Why people choose an implant
There is more than one way to replace a missing tooth. This is what makes an implant different from the alternatives.
It stands on its own
An implant does not require clasps on healthy teeth and can be used regardless of the number or the location of the teeth being replaced.
You care for it normally
It is fixed in place and cleaned like the rest of your teeth, rather than being removed at night.
It can secure a denture
Dentures can click into implant abutments, which removes the need for adhesive and lets you bite with more confidence.
What the process involves
It happens in stages, with healing time in between. We will map out the whole timeline for you at the consultation so there are no surprises.
Assessment
We examine the bone levels in the jaw using X-rays and work out the right position for the implant. Impressions are taken at this stage.
Placement and healing
The implant is placed in the jawbone. A period of healing follows while the bone bonds to the implant surface.
The final tooth
An abutment is fitted, a final impression taken, and the replacement tooth is made and fitted, followed by review appointments.
Common questions
Am I a candidate?
That depends on the bone in the area and on your general oral health, which is what the assessment is for. If an implant is not the right answer we will tell you and go through the alternatives.
How long does the whole thing take?
It is done in stages with healing time between them, so it runs over a number of months rather than a single appointment. We map out the timeline at the consultation.
I already wear a denture. Is this relevant?
Yes. Implants can be used to hold a denture securely in place. Bring the denture you have now to the consultation.
What does it cost?
For all treatment pricing we follow the provincial dental fee guide used by all dental practices in Ontario. You get a written estimate before any treatment begins, and we direct bill insurance and accept CDCP.
Do I have to go somewhere else for the surgery?
No. Assessment, placement and the final restoration all happen at our own clinic.

Implant work is planned, placed and restored by our own dentists, several of whom have built their practice around implant dentistry and prosthetics.
Dr. Samuel Samra
Known to patients as Dr. Sam. He graduated from the NYU College of Dentistry and holds board certification in both the United States and Canada.
Dr. Ayman Samra
Board certified at the University of Toronto in 1997. He opened the Bridgeport Weber practice in 2001 and the Cambridge clinic after it. Over 22 years in general dentistry and oral surgery, with a particular focus on implant dentistry, prosthetics and endodontics.

Dr. Azehar Raouf
An associate dentist at the clinics since 2014, with over 19 years of practice in Canada and internationally. She holds a degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Master's specialising in biomaterial and implant material. Her interests include restorative and pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics and oral surgery.
